It is an event where the members of the fellowship can share their testimonies, passions, and lives in Christ to the campus at large in the form of skits, musical presentations, testimonies, flash presentations, and whatever their hearts desire. Lifesong is a recognized event where friends, classmates, housemates, and the general public can come to discover who Jesus is.

ONE LIFE
The theme for Lifesong this term is “One Life.” We have one life to live, one life that saves us, and we have only one life with which to respond to the life He offers to us. Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

WANNA SERVE?
Do you like to act, sing, play an instrument, dance, perform, share, or design media presentations? If you like to do any of the above (or something else) and you feel God’s call to share your faith then please prayerfully consider how you can help with Lifesong. In particular, we are still looking for people to share their faith stories and to help out with promotion and media (flash presentations).

IMPORTANT!!!
*** Please pray for the event (and our desire to share the good news), those who will be involved (like you or other CCF members), and those who will be attending (like your friends and classmates). More importantly, let us consider how we as individuals can be good witnesses and be prepared to share this life that we have with those we care about. ***

CONTACTS:
For music presentations, contact Sam Ip at spikeysam@gmail.com
For drama presentations, contact Chung Tam at hexforreal@hotmail.com
For other presentations, contact Jeff Tong at 03062k3@gmail.com
For information, contact the coordinator Joyce Yu at joycee_y@hotmail.com

Cell/Small groups are important to faciliate spiritual growth as Friday nights are huge and hard to get to know people enough to challenge them at a personal level! If you haven't already joined one, here are some more for your consideration:

mens cell:
"Better late than never"...the thought behind Men's Cell for this term because it is late in the term to start. Men's Cell is going to start next week for any and all guys that are interested and can find time in their busy schedules to attend. This term, Men's Cell is going to be a discussion-based cell group focusing on men's issues, men in leadership, and general sharing/"accountability". Topics will include "characteristics of a man of God", "the need for the company of men"/"fighting alongside brothers", "men in leadership", "relationships", "chivalry" and many more (as time will allow). We will be aiming to meet once a week on a day and at a time to be determined (may not even need to be a set time/day if that is what works) depending on the schedules of those who wish to join. If you are interested please contact Jeff Tong by email at 03062k3@gmail.com and/or by phone at 416-508-9950 as soon as possible (preferably but not necessarily by midnight Sunday October 23, 2005).

other small groups by the Waterloo Christian Fellowship: http://waterloo.ivcf.ca/smallgroups.php?PHPSESSID=6d9d251eaa47d08033b992abc4e11fcd

Operation Christmas Child www.samaritanspurse.ca
Operation Christmas Child is an annual event that unites churches in fulfilling the Great Commission of spreading the Gospel by reaching out to needy children and their families. To this end, last year over 735,000 boxes filled with toys, supplies, and candies were sent from Canada to kids in countries such as the Ivory Coast, Cambodia, and Russia. This year, CCF is aiming to contribute at least 150 boxes to this cause and is asking its members, you, to help.
For more information and ideas, visit the information booth setup outside of CCF during Friday night's program, or contact Steve Wong (sm2wong@engmail.uwaterloo.ca) or Jane Huang ( jane.c.huang@gmail.com).

member's meeting

Click here for this term’s survey form

Click http://www1.uwccf.ca/resources/ to get to access the Membership form + Constitution.

THERE IS A MEMBER'S MEETING ON SUNDAY OCT. 16 2005, at 9:30 PM at MC 2034.

Feel free to contact the committee if you have any questions or concerns.

Your UWCCF Fall 2005 Committee

Cell Groups - Fall 2005

Frosh Cell
Tuesday and Thursday nights

HELLOOOOO frosh~!!!! Welcome to Waterloo and CCF. As you are entering in to a new part of your life here at university, we as Leaders of Frosh Cell hope that this small group will be a comfortable place where you can fellowship, and have fun meeting with other first year students. Not only will this small group exist for the purpose of having fun, but also in hopes that we could challenge you to grow spiritually. We hope that you will be able to find your role here on campus, and ultimately God’s role for your lives at this point in time. Frosh cell is intended for all you frosh who have a genuine passion and desire to follow closely after God. Frosh cell will also be a place where you will be challenged in your understanding of who He is and to draw closer to Him in your personal spiritual journey. Some of the activities we have planned include Bible Studies, Discussion Nite, Sports Nite, Guys & Girls Nite, Praise & Prayer Nite, Study Nite, etc…

If anyone has questions feel free to contact us at

Kevin Leung : MSN/Email: kev_2kwfaith@yahoo.com
Chris Chan: MSN/Email: midgetman88@hotmail.com
Vanessa Li: MSN/Email: banannavanessa@hotmail.com

Social Injustice
Social Injustice Cell's goal is to educate ourselves on various social
issues that impact us in Kitchener-Waterloo, and on a global scale.
Through bi-weekly discussion on issues such as drugs, alcoholism, teen
pregnancies, and poverty, we try to look at the world from a social
perspective, and hopefully expand our ways of thinking. Through weekly
volunteering at Oasis Drop-In Centre, we'll learn about these issues not
just from a removed distance, but through one-on-one interactions with
less well-off in downtown Kitchener, while serving them food and
building relationships with them. With these activities, we hope that we
can broaden our perspectives, and learn about ourselves while serving
others.

Contacts: Elliot Lui - lalalakers@hotmail.com
Dawn Chiu - dawner@gmail.com

Rock Solid
Wednesday nights

Do you want to tell your friends about Jesus but always chicken out? Are there things about God, the Bible, your faith, philosophy, and science that, when you really think about them, bother you and preclude you from sharing your faith with others? Do you wrestle over issues with God?

Rock Solid is an open-membership cell group that will challenge you to think about the issues that you always ignore, or go beyond the surface with issues you take for granted. Why stir the pot? The purpose of Rock Solid is to form your own opinions on controversial issues based on Biblical support, get information about those "tough questions", learn about the ministry of Jesus, and pray like crazy!

The format of Rock Solid will be weekly meetings, with every second week being a "learning week" and the other weeks in between specifically for prayer. Rock Solid will investigate topics such as reconciling the God of the Old Testament with the God of the New Testament, evil, evolution, and more, while committing our whole selves as Christ's messangers and ambassadors in prayer. Topics will be explored in the form of Bible study, debates, group discussions, and role playing.

If you're up for a challenge to go beyond the issues, build up your apologetics knowledge base, and walk hand in hand with the Holy Spirit, come check out Rock Solid. Topics will be posted/announced prior to each "learning" session to those who are unable to make a term committment. Time and date to be determined (likely to be on a Tuesday evening, but this is negotiable).

Contact Marianne Heppleston: joyfuljangle@gmail.com

Alpha
Thursdays 18:00-21:00
Alpha is a course geared towards people wanting to learn more about Christianity. It welcomes seekers, New Christians, and believers who want to brush up on the basics of Christianity.
The Alpha group will provide a great environment whereby anyone can discuss topics relating to Christianity and ask any question about Christianity - as the cliché goes, there are no stupid questions, nor hostile ones, either.
There are 3 basic parts to Alpha: dinner, talk, and discussion. There will be meal provided at the start of each gathering. A video talk given by Nicky Gumbel will follow, and the night will end in a discussion of the topic in the video. Talks centre on various topics related to the Christian faith.

Join Alpha and discover what Christianity is all about... and make a group of new friends along the way.
If you have any questions about Alpha, please feel free to e-mail Victoria. We are also currently looking for leaders and helpers, so please drop me a line if you are interested!
---
Contact Victoria Mok: pedellea@hotmail.com

Worship Cell
Wednesdays 19:30-22:00
Worship has often been misinterpreted as being the music one hears while in church or fellowship. Worship through music is merely the easiest form of worship to see. As a love song sung for another speaks of the devotion and dedication, the words of love that are sung mean nothing if they are not expressed through action as well. The worship cell group will be focusing beyond musical worship. We will sing love songs to our God but as well be learning about how we can show and prove this love by living each and every day in devotion to our maker in other ways so that worship will become a way of life.

'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" Mark 12:30 NIV.'

Contact: Doug Lam: lemonduck@gmail.com
Karl Hui: hui_sk@hotmail.com

Purpose Driven Life (PDL) Cell

“What on earth am I here for?”
“What is the purpose of my life?”

These are questions many of us have pondered at one point or time. Life’s most basic questions are the most difficult to grasp because we often use ourselves as starting point and ask self-seeking questions that involves our fulfillment and our happiness. However, since we are not the creator of ourselves we cannot find our purpose by looking within us.

With the aid of “The Purpose Driven Life,” written by Pastor Rick Warren, we hope to discover God’s plan and purpose for our lives.
Throughout our passage we will discover God’s five purposes for each one of us:

Purpose #1: You Were Planned for God’s Pleasure
Purpose #2: You Were Formed for God’s Family
Purpose #3: You Were Created to Become Like Christ
Purpose #4: You Were Shaped for Serving God
Purpose #5: You Were Made for a Mission

We meet weekly for discussions and will be blogging /journaling daily, throughout our 40 days. This will provide encouragement, support and a means for us to share our thoughts and experiences. After 40 days we hope you'll experience satisfaction, peace of mind, and find the right direction in life; God’s direction.

Contact: Anne Nguyen - snowflakes101@hotmail.com
Christie Yu - christyyu9@hotmail.com

Women's Cell
Hey girls, do you want to grow spiritually and get to know God with other sisters in Christ? Would you like to be part of a support and accountability group in a small intimate setting? Do you want to be part of an environment that fosters intimacy, transparency and openness? If so, come check out women’s cell this term! This term, we’ll be doing a journaling cell group where members will be journaling on Bible passages each week. Each week when we get together, we’ll be sharing our journals, studying the passages in depth and challenging one another to grow in our spiritual walks with God. We look forward to the sharing of lives and the transformations that God will do in each of you this term.
Contacts: Helen Tam - helenhtam@gmail.com
Pam Ng - pamie403@hotmail.com

Thanksgiving Friday...

Unofficial CCF This Friday - Potluck @ Westcourt

For all of you who are in Waterloo this friday night, come join us at the infamous westcourt house for a potluck.
